Tower Operator - 2nd ShiftNorth Star Sheets, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, a corrugated paper manufacturing industry leader, currently has exciting opportunities available for a Tower Operator - 2nd Shift in Cottage Grove, MN!2nd Shift: 3:45pm-12:15am, Monday-FridayAs a Tower Operator, you act as the central point of communication and leadership for the corrugator during the shift. The control room operator is responsible for process control, order fulfillment, and meeting production goals by working with all departments to monitor corrugator computer systems to ensure optimal efficiency and production of quality corrugated sheets.Essential Job Functions:Follow all safety and company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping, reporting any issues, accidents or incidents immediately; must complete online safety training each month as assignedResponsible for following and editing orders in queue as neededConstant communication with entire corrugator crew and production supervisor on all changes/issuesMonitor all corrugator computer systems ensuring system is functioning efficiently and correctlyResponsible for monitoring board at all steps of production ensuring quality of product and best run practicesVerify all manual scoresVerify all quality testing to ensure a quality productResponsible for maintaining cleanliness of shear, slitter, knife, control room, and tools for the jobComplete accurate production and downtime reports after each shiftFollow all established SOP's as well as newly introduced SOP'sTroubleshoot any equipment problems and report to management/maintenance immediatelyConstantly monitor orders and ensure customer special requests are followedAssist in eliminating downtime by tracking and monitoring the flow of units through the bander/shippingProvide On the Job Training as neededRegular and predictable attendance; attendance must be exemplaryMust be able to work flexible hours and/or extended hoursPerform other duties as assignedNorth Star Sheets requires the following skills and abilities:2 years of corrugated experience is requiredAbility to work overtime and occasional Saturdays dependent on customer demandAbility to train on various shifts during first 90 daysAbility to work in a fast paced, challenging, and results driven environmentAbility to function as a professional individual who communicates effectivelyAn energetic, motivated, and dependable worker who is dedicated to the teamAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimalsComputer skills are requiredPhysical Demands:Constant standing, talking, hearing, walking; frequent stooping and bending, twisting, turning, maintaining balance; occasional kneeling and reaching over the shoulder; also required simple grasping, pushing and pulling; must be able to lift 50 lbs., specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception and peripheral visionAs an industry leader North Star Sheets offers:Culture of safety through monthly safety trainingsExceptional pay and great, affordable benefits (including life, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match and more) * Company 401(k) match tops out at 3%Monthly Team Share bonuses – Earn a bonus equal to a percentage of your monthly wages based on plant performance.
