At Viget we help clients concept design and launch compelling digital products. As an intern youll experience key aspects of building a productby collaborating across discipline teams. Youll join client meetings to experience presentations and consulting firsthand. Youll get exposure to client work and have the opportunity to contribute to internal Viget initiatives. Youll also meet regularly with your dedicated Advisor to discuss your progress on personalized learning goals.

As a Software Developer Intern youll build real web applications alongside Vigets development teams focusing on Application JavaScript or UI development. Depending on your track you might build and launch applications using Ruby on Rails (or a similar framework in Python or Elixir); create interactive components and applications; or bring designs to life with accessible responsive interfaces in HTML and CSS. Youll build and launch several applications starting with smaller projects and culminating in your own custom creation. Along the way youll learn industry best practices for testing including test-driven development. Youll join team meetings code reviews and pair programming sessions. Youll also sit in on client meetings to see how development expectations are defined from the outset.

The Basics

• The internship is offered at our office in downtown Boulder CO .
• The internship lasts 10 weeks from June 7 to August 13. Viget is closed on June 18th and July 5th.
• Interns are expected to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday (usually 9-5 but we can be somewhat flexible).

• We offer a $6000/summer stipend paid monthly on a pro rata basis. Course credit is also an option.

Our Interns

• Are currently enrolled in college. We will review first-year graduate students and first or second year college students but preference will be given to juniors and seniors in college.
• Have a track record of hard work and success. Examples could be effectively balancing school and work holding leadership positions in various activities or high academic achievement.
• Get things done. We look for students who like responsibility see things through and take pride in a job well done.
• Are strong communicators and effective collaborators.

Our Application Developer Interns

• Have had significant coursework in computer science (major not required).
• Know Ruby on Rails (or a similar web application framework) or can learn it fast.
• Have an insatiable curiosity. They love learning new languages and technologies.
• Value rich web designs and enjoy working with designers.
• Want to be professional web developers when they graduate.
• Enjoy working alongside product designers front-end developers and project managers to learn how we produce quality digital products and software.

Our JavaScript Developer Interns

• Have experience developing web applications using JavaScript and frameworks such as Vue and React.
• Advocate for a great user experience in all their work.
• Have some formal software development training.
• Enjoy working across disciplines alongside both our front-end development and design teams.

Our UI Developer Interns

• Have experience building websites or web applications with semantic HTML and modern CSS and JS.
• Care deeply about accessibility and want to build interfaces that work for everyone.
• Have a keen eye for design and enjoy translating comps into polished experiences across screen sizes.
• Love learning new front-end tools and techniques but stay grounded in the fundamentals.
• Enjoy working across disciplines alongside our designers developers and project managers.
